John joined the HCB team during the winter and has pledged his support of the project, which has brought 125 top-flight college players to the East End for the next two months, including from prominent programs such as Vanderbilt, Stanford, St. John's, Long Beach State, Southern Mississippi. John's appearances will go as follows:

Sunday: North Fork @ Southampton, Stony Brook Southampton, 5 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to stop by the ball field to meet and take photos with John, as well as take in all the action. John will also chat with and work with pitchers prior to the game.

John won 288 games during his 26-year career, which included four All-Star Game selections, three 20-win seasons and three World Series appearances. His win total is seventh-highest among left-handers in major league history. John played eight seasons over two stints with the Yankees, winning 21 games in 1979 and 22 in 1980. John is also famous for being the first pitcher in history to undergo the revolutionary operation that has since become known as Tommy John Surgery.
