The Southampton Breakers improved to 22-14 and moved into a tie for first place last week with only a handful of games left in the regular season in the Hamptons/Kaiser division of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.
The Breakers suffered a 9-1 loss to the North Fork Ospreys in a road game on Wednesday, July 22, before splitting a doubleheader with fellow first place team the Westhampton Aviators on Friday, July 24. Southampton won the first game 6-0 before falling 13-3 in the second game. On Sunday, the Breakers defeated the Riverhead Tomcats 7-1 in the first game of a doubleheader and the teams were knotted at 7-7 in the second game before it was called due to darkness. That game was slated to be completed on Wednesday, July 29. Results will be in next week’s edition.
